Beaujolais Nouveau Day! This French tradition occurs the third Thursday of every November and is a celebration showcasing the year’s harvest and new supply of wine. As the season becomes colder and more reminiscent of fall, there is nothing better than a little celebration for new starts and expectations while sipping on your favorite red, white or rosé. Who said you had to wait until the New Year for a fresh start!

The timing could not be more fitting for the City of Alexandria and Living Legends of Alexandria. With elections just weeks away, change could be a foot and new faces might show up in our elected positions. Living Legends of Alexandria also made several large changes this year. Our founder Nina Tisara will step down later this year and hand leadership to Jennifer Ayers, our newly elected board president. With this change in leadership comes new opportunity for LLA to grow and develop with the changing landscape of the City. Plans are underway to broaden our youth workshop, Family Legends. This workshop is a partnership with ACPS public schools and teaches the young participants the importance and process of recording important family stories and culture.

The newly renovated residential complex in Del Ray will host several wine tastings and the opportunity to meet new members of the board, our elected officials and Living Legends.
