In Memory – Dorothy E. Turner

Dorothy was recognized as a Living Legend in 2012 for her work to improve the quality of life for low income and minority residents of the City of Alexandria. She worked alongside many groups to improve the negative stigma many in public housing face, lead grass-root efforts to increase black representation on City Council and to name a few of her momentous acts.

Dorothy Turner passed away on March 3rd 2016.

The viewing will occur at Greene Funeral Home on Thursday, March 10th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm located at 814 Franklin Street Alexandria, Va.

Another viewing will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday March 11th from 9:30am to 11:00am located at 711 N. Columbus Street, Alexandria Va. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am.
